ABOUT US

The Sri Lankan Coordinating Committee shall strive to create an effective co-ordination and communication link between the Embassy and the Sri Lankan Expatriate Community and their associations in Qatar as the head of Umbrella Organization. The SLCC Stablished in 2005 as the prime goals to maintain unity among the SL communities in Qatar and promote Sri Lankan Culture and up-lift Sri Lanka’s image in Qatar. In addition to that SLCC is the umbrella organization which provides Constructive ideas on national issues and Community issues. Since 2005 SLCC keep the close relationship with the Sri Lankan Embassy and assist the Sri Lankan Embassy when opportunities/ disasters are available.

Sri Lanka Community Benevolent Fund (SLCBF)

The Sri Lankan Community Benevolent Fund formed in the year 2008 as the finance wing of the SLCC. Prime objective of SLCBF is Operate the Benevolent fund in order to ensure the welfare and benefit of Sri Lankan. The fund provides (limited) financial assistance for below cases but not limited, subjected to approve by the Sri Lankan Embassy and the Managing Committee. Provide Food and welfare for Sri Lankan victims of the disaster Conduct Medical camp for Sri Lankan Legal assistance for Labor problems (Genuine cases) and Jail visit Persons held in Police custody pending deportation Medical expenses of SL nationals in Qatar suffering from life threatening diseases Cases facing deportation and repatriation

Sri Lankan Business Council (SLBC)

The Sri Lankan Business Council was formed in 2012, under direct supervision of SLCC umbrella organization and formalized on 2014. Main objectives are to promote the business relationship between Sri Lanka and Qatar and Assist Sri Lankan businessmen and companies base in Qatar. Provide the opportunity for SL businessmen to meet on regular basis and to act as a forum and promote Sri Lankan Product and Tourism in Qatar. Keep the Sri Lanka Embassy informed when opportunities of foreign employment are available.
